The decision to abolish the Form Three Assessment (PT3) examination from 2022, has raised some concerns among parents and educators. This is the second major examination abolished after the Standard Six UPSR paper was scrapped in 2021.

The Ministry of Education announced that the ministry would instead implement summative assessments and will strengthen school-based assessments and will conduct year-end summative assessments (Pentaksiran Sumatif) at the end of each year. Education Minister Radzi Jidin said in the absence of PT3, students would be assessed through three methods, namely classroom assessments, physical activity, sports and co-curricular assessments, and psychometric assessments.
